There are three primary missteps that’s entrepreneurs make with regard to marketing. Luckily, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, and we’re going to tell you how to avoid making these mistakes.

Number one is spreading your marketing budget too thin. It’s not unusual for entrepreneurial endeavors to be tight on cash. That’s fine as long as you use what budget you have to the greatest effect. It’s tempting for entrepreneurs to want to do everything – advertising in lots of different media, direct mail and email, sponsoring various events – and so they spend a little bit of money in a lot of different areas and end up with not much of anything.

In advertising, bigger is usually better. A full page ad generally gets more attention, and consequently more results, than a half page ad and a half page ad is much more noticeable than a business card size ad.
