David Lykken is President and Chief Executive Officer of MBS, LLC, headquartered in Horseshoe Bay. He is also the founder of the company. He has extensive expertise in virtually every phase of mortgage banking. His knowledge and skills comprise a unique blend of technology and business operations, stemming from his long experience in the industry. With a special focus on warehouse lines of credit, mortgage broker to mortgage banker, investor relations, mortgage broker licensing, bulk loan sales and secondary marketing. Experienced the mortgage industry, Mr. Lykken founded two regional mortgage banking companies in Southern California, where he was a partner in a third national mortgage banking company headquartered in Irvine, California. Mr. Lykken has an outstanding track record as a seasoned entrepreneur in both mortgage banking and technology. Seeing an entrepreneurial opportunity outside the mortgage arena, Dave started a computerized loan origination system (CLO) software company in his garage that grew into a large national publicly traded company, ultimately capturing 23% market share. As the Senior Executive Consultant with over 30 years experience in sales and finance, Mr. Lykken has a demonstrated ability to build businesses from early stage start-ups to public companies in the mortgage arena. Mr. Lykken has forged trusted relationships with key figures in the industry, due to his personal integrity, character, and ethical business practices. Mr. Lykken received a bachelor's degree in music in 1973 from Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. David H. Hopson Senior Consultant Email: Mr. Hopson is responsible for overseeing and executing client services as a senior consultant primarily within the western region consisting of thirteen western states. Mr. Hopson joined MBDS, LLC bringing with him technology expertise in residential/commercial real estate. Prior to joining he served as Vice President, CFO/CIO for Neighborhood Lane, Inc in Aliso Viejo, CA and served as acting Chief Information Officer for Residential Money Center in Irvine, CA. Mr. Hopson successfully managed both financial/accounting and technology. During this tenure Mr. Hopson analyzed financial statements, manage an accounting staff, worked with budgeting and financial reporting. Mr. Hopson has been project manager for numerous IT development programs. As head of development for Residential Money Centers he designed and managed network infrastructure creating a fully integrated loan process system used by the entire corporation including 400 + user branch offices nationwide. Mr. Hopson banking technology experience includes system creation of modules built-in, automatic underwriting systems, interface with both FNMA Desktop Underwriter and FHLMC Loan Prospector and modules for tracking loan findings and sales for integration with accounting and payroll processing systems. Mr. Hopson has extensive experience in automation, financials standardizing guidelines, general amortization data analysis, and wide spread marketing and portfolio valuation reporting. Mr. Hopson is a graduate of the University of California, Berkley where we received his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with emphases in Finance and Marketing. He is fluent in Italian and is proficient in French and German. He resides in Laguna Nigel, CA Dale Cline Senior Consultant Email: Mr. Cline is a Senior Consultant having experienced virtually all facets of mortgage lending during the past 20 years; Dale brings a valuable perspective to the MBS. Trained as an accountant, Mr. Cline first encountered the world of mortgages while working with Peat Marwick Mitchell & Company. As a lead auditor on the audit on one of the nation’s largest mortgage banks, he gained a very unique view of the financial and operational underpinnings of mortgage lending. From public accounting to the private industry, in the mid '80s, Mr. Cline’s experience is in establishing and successfully well-controlled, high quality environment with young companies; where he implements internal audits, quality control and broker/correspondent approval functions. Mr. Cline specializes in Portfolio Risk Management. Mr. Cline is also involved in on-going examination of the performance of the mortgage product being originated and acquired by companies. As Vice Chairman of the Corporate Risk Management Committee, Mr. Cline’s knowledge of mortgage processes and performance contributed to the company's credit and risk policy. His intimate understanding, experience and knowledge led Mr. Cline into a marketing role responsible for communicating with secondary market investors, rating agencies, Wall Street traders/salesman and insurers at about the underlying quality of the company's MBS product. Mr. Cline soon drove established a mortgage brokerage which methodically grew into several states with a broad menu of products including A, Alt A, sub prime and FHA/VA. The company utilized state of the art technology tools to build efficiencies into the origination process. With experiences ranging from auditing mortgage companies to risk management in a top tier mortgage bank to starting up a new mortgage brokerage, Mr. Cline brings to the MBS a true empathy for our clients and the challenges/opportunities facing them. Mr. Cline resides in Charlotte, NC office. He is spend as much time as possible with his wife, son and two daughters. He holds a BSBA degree with an emphasis in Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a MBA from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He continues to maintain his designation as a Certified Public Accountant. Kenney Hayes Mergers & Acquisitions Email: Kenney Hayes is the Senior Consultant for Mergers & Acquisitions. She has led “due-diligence” teams with a proactive approach understanding the importance of merging two corporate cultures into one. As a thirty-seven year veteran within the mortgage banking industry, Mrs. Hayes is experience in processing and closing, underwriting and senior production manager. With her cutting edge ideas her uncanny ability to effectively communicate the organizations profit model, Mrs. Hayes has led in the mortgage banking division through hostile takeover and delivered one of the most profitable buyouts to Bank of America that was recorded during her period. Mrs. Hayes has a well-developed appetite for combining the real estate and the mortgage banking industry as affiliates after joining a mid-west company that specialized in such joint ventures. She successfully merged real estate and the mortgage side of business to meet the regulations required by HUD while maintaining profitability for the partners. Her motto “what gets measured gets done!” has propelled her into many unique opportunities creating a consistent record of measured results. She has created her own mortgage company and has been consulting for over ten years. Her expertise has coached, created and changed business operations improving efficiency. Mrs. Hayes was published in a feature article for Mortgage Banking magazine. Mrs. Hayes continues to give her time to non-profit groups teaching budgeting at her local community rescue mission. She is a published author and is involved in writing and composing Christian music. She lives with her husband and has two adult daughters. She resides in Tacoma/Seattle, WA area. Lloyd E. Arnold Jr. Associate Consultant Email: Mr. Arnold joined MBS, LLC in 2006 where he brings over twenty years of mortgage banking experience. His background includes Territory Relationship Management Sales, Loan Origination and Finance, Franchise Sales, Recruiting and Business Development. Prior to joining MBS, LLC Mr. Arnold served as an Executive Consultant and Executive Manager for several mortgage companies. He has expertise in recruiting and sales within the mortgage industry. He has managed several regional mortgage broker franchise sales departments and has maintained solid banking relationships throughout the mortgage industry. Mr. Arnold’s scope of experience has given him the ability to meet business challenges with decisiveness and well thought out business solutions. Mr. Arnold is the past President of the Texas Association of Mortgage Brokers, a Delegate Council Member of the national Association of Mortgage Brokers, and a Board Member in Houston, TX. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing. Mr. Arnold has held licenses as a Broker, Texas Insurance License Group I and as a Texas Licensed Real Estate Agent. Mr. Arnold resides in Sugar Land, TX with his wife two daughters.
